ABOUT THIS MAP

Real places.
Imagined possibilities.

This is a planning demonstration for exploring a potential nationwide food network. It does not represent an operating partnership with Target.

Target stores

2,026 store locations from Target official store directory, retrieved 2026-10-23. The local snapshot is for planning; check the official store page for current details.

All 2,034 locations discovered in Target’s public state directories and store sitemap were checked. This snapshot includes 2,026 open public stores across 50 states and Washington, D.C. Seven internal test locations and one not-yet-open store were excluded. Store details can change after the snapshot date.

Fictional restaurants & community partners

Every store has four fictional restaurants and three fictional community organizations. Names, biographies, leaders, locations, menus, relationships, schedules and meal quantities are generated examples. They do not identify actual Rethink Food partners or people.

One plan: about 18 million meals per year

Each profile shows meals per delivery or service × times per week = weekly meals. Annual meals equal weekly meals × 52 planning weeks. Across the full national network, 346,152 weekly meals equal 17,999,904 annual meals, displayed as 18.0M. The slight difference from 18 million keeps every service at a whole number of meals.

At every store, the four restaurants’ combined weekly output matches the three CBOs’ combined weekly meal allocation. These describe the same planned meals: the headline counts restaurants once and never adds CBO allocations. Filters recompute the headline from matching restaurants using the same 52-week basis. The annual plan assumes the example schedule repeats every week; it does not account for holidays or interruptions. All amounts are fictional planning allocations, not actual deliveries, commitments or forecasts.

Partner figures describe each restaurant’s contribution and each CBO’s distribution allocation for this community meal program. They do not describe the restaurant’s full commercial output or the CBO’s total activity.

Illustrative connections

Dashed lines connect a selected store with its fictional partners. Distances are approximate straight-line distances. Meal quantities are simulated allocations, not meals served or a commitment.
